You know how Walter Wray has Pete Webber's number, just wondering if you have an opponent like that.
For me there is a guy in our league let's call him Dave, he's a young guy with good intentions but no filter. (Like you'll have the front 10 and he'll walk up to you put his hand on your shoulder and say "Two more for a 300"). Anyway I average 10 pins higher than Dave, but when he is around I just can't bowl well. I mean I can be rolling against someone else and if I hear his voice I'll dump it in the ditch or miss my mark by 5 boards.
So last night was the final play-offs for our scratch match play league. First game I'm up against Dave. I just got my big block resurfaced and rejuvinated and took it to 1000 polished but it wasn't ready for the fresh lanes so I was switching between the NMB and Hawgzilla. But I couldn't find my rhythm, balance or hit my mark, finally switched to the big block in the 8th frame. Every open got me more frustrated and I lost the match 149 to 206.
So Game 2 and 3 I relax and I'm now rolling against other opponents (our play off work like a tournament where you move lanes and roll different opponents each game) and shoot a 221 and 206. Now the 4th game is the position round, and we're playing Dave's team. Well I found a way to beat my kryptonite, and crushed Dave 253 to 180! It was a great way to end the season.
