I am constantly getting a blister at the base of my thumb after 2/3 game.
How can I tell if my pitch is incorrect. I am a stroker with about 15/16 mph
and low/med revs. Throwing down the 2nd arrow, down and in.

Thanks for any help.

A blister is good indication the pitch is wrong. With that said, the way it's wrong is the real question. Which side is the blister, are you gripping the ball to tightly is the thumb size truly correct? Most people haven't had the opportunity to experiment with a bunch of different pitches and spans. A rule of "thumb" about side pitch is when you hold the opposite wrist with your bowling hand, you can tell which side pitch you need for your thumb. If it angles toward your elbow, a right handed bowler would need left pitch(left handers would be reversed of coarse). If your thumb points to your index finger you probably need a collure grip where the thumb hole is placed further to the left(right for left handers). My recommendation is find someone who can fit a "troublesome" hand.

We need to know where the blister is. Take a picture if you can

It's either from squeezing the ball too hard,or it could be from the thumbhole on the ball. If the ball doesn't have a slug in the thumbhole, the edge of the thumbhole may have to be filed down some to give the thumb some room to come out of the hole. I've seen balls with a vee cut into the edge of the thumbhole to allow the web between the thumb and index finger to have some room. That may help your blister, too.

If its where I think it is (base where the thumb and palm connect) you probably need forward pitch, forward pitch helps you hold the ball without squeezing. There's a staggering number of bowlers out there with reverse pitch who dont need it.

I agree. The guys with reverse pitch who shouldn't have it in their ball are easy to find. Just follow the sound of the "Thud" when the ball hits the lane.

Thanks for the response guys.

Blistershurt, Yes it is at the base. I am going to go to my pro shop and ask them to correct the issue.

Alright, hope it goes well, yeah Rowdy is right, it makes a MUCH cleaner release when your pitches are all right...my camcorder is charged...i think i'm going to the lanes tonight for prebowl, so if I go bowling I'll get it this time, last 3 times I've tried, the camera has had no batteries.
