Back in the day of Ray Bluth / Don Carter / Dick Weber / Carmen Salvino there were many who threw a full roller. I can't thing of any current Touring Pro who throws a full roller unless it is one of the Old Timers.

I remember hearing that. For some reason it surprises me that there aren't any pros that throw full roller. I guess I'll unique compared to the other bowlers if I become a pro like I want to be. Still have to get better though.

I think the closest you are going to get to a pro that is a full roller, I would look at Pete Weber. I know that he has strong side roll, and probably the closest you will see to a pro being a full roller on tour.

Full rollers fell out of favor because of the balls and lane conditions. Maybe the time is right for you to bring the full roller back.

yeah. Since yesterday, the last day of my youth league, I've been thinking alot about my release. I've been thinking I've been trying to change my throw so much lately since this is my first year bowling again in a while, and thats what I've been focusing on. I feel now that I may have been too worried about that. I'm pretty decent at the moment 170-180 avg lately and I know I can do better, if I could pick up more spares I'd be better. At the moment I think I'm going to stick with being a full roller and try to adapt with that. If in the long run I feel I could do better with as a semi-roller than I may change, but until then Im staying how I am.

Stick with what works for you. And at this moment it seems you throw the full roller release with confidince and are one of those people who can be good at using it. Just practice more on your spare game and you avg will rise another 10 + pins.

That means yours would hit harder and have more hook. Which I think is always good. :P

Think so? I'll have one of them drilled up and see what I can do with it. Now I just have to relearn something I unlearned decades ago.

Well rowdy, i hear if u drill a ball for semi-roller full roller, its a very very good ball for outside angles and for some oil.

A semi roller is a stroker, if I'm wrong correct me.

A semi roller is a stroker, if I'm wrong correct me. I don't think so. U can be a cranker and not track over the finger holes. A semi-roller is just where ur track isn't full roller and its not spinner. So u can be anything.

I thought cranker and tweener werent considered as much semi rollers, because they move away from that release...oh well...lol
