Quick question about release. I really got a lot out of the article Bubba posted on strong finger position.

I've posted in the past that I roll over my thumb hole quite a bit. I'm pretty sure this is due to the fact that I keep my ring finger at 6 o'clock, angle my hand at 45 to 90 degree angle to the direction of my swing, get my thumb out fast, and really flip the ball with my fingers.

I noticed that putting my ring finger in the 7 o'clock position not only generated more hook but I didn't roll over the thumb as much.

Now the question is should your thumb come out and you revs come from your finger tips lifting the ball up as they exit (in line with the thumb)? Or should the thumb stay in and the finger rotate around the thumb?

I'm pretty sure it's the first but would like some confirmation.

All of your revs comes after your thumb is out. The thumb should be out when the ball is next to your slide foot. The as you rotate your hand around the ball you get the revs from the rotation of the hands and lift from your fingertips as the hand is rotating.
