Picked up a brocure on this from the bowling alley over the weekend and it looks like it would be pretty fun. Anybody been before? Care to share the pros/cons? Entry fee seems pretty reasonable, but it's literally a cross country trip for us to get to Vegas, and I'm wondering if it'd be worth it. I'm a once or twice a week bowler carrying an average just below 200...by no means a "high roller".....don't want to travel cross country to get blown out and not win any money....So, what do those of you who have been think? Recommend it or not?

The USBC Open Championships are deffinately worth the trip not matter where they are. But Vegas is special. When they are held in Vegas they usually have a huge turnout so if you are planning on going get your entry in early. As for the pros and cons, I can't think of any cons but the pro side of it is you gain a trmendous experience and in Vegas majes it even more special. One thing you have to remember is in this game you are never assured of winning money. It's a chance we all take . Also you will be bowling on a Sport Patten wich are harder than a house shot.

If you want a great time and fantastic experience you will remember, Go if you can.

Honestly, I think I going to try and make Reno in 2010. Vegas would be good as well, but I want to bowl in the Bowling Stadium.

I thought the lanes were very playable inside of 10 at the bp. Alot of people just won't budge off the second arrow and think they can burn up a shot out there. I never saw that.

I played em between 15 and 20 to 10-12 at the bp for the entire 9 games. I'm currently in 220th in allevents with 1962.
