Im new to the forum and after reading all the threads here, you all obviosly know what you are talking about. After seeing No Mercy in action(pro shop owner used it in my league) i decided after about 2 yrs to get a new ball. I currently have a sling blade and ultimate inferno. I keep both in relativly good condition(wiping them off after each shot, cleaning them every two weeks) but i've hit a few rough spots where i cant seem to find a good approach. I mostly throw my shots over the second arrow starting a board or two to the right of the center dot at around 14-15 mph. Sometimes when i constantly hit too high, i cant find a good place to start. Ill progressivly keep moving one board over but the ball seems to skip the pocket, hitting low. Ill try the third arrow over another couple boards but neither the inferno nor the blade can recover enough. Thats where i hope the widow/no mercy comes in. Im not entirely sure if i will be able to handle the high movement of either ball. Any suggestions on which ball would fit me most? Im pretty sure im a tweener. Thanks
PS: sry for the long post:D

Everything I have read on the black widow says it will lend itself to more bowling styles. True, it can be a aggressive ball. But, with the right drill setup, it could be very controllable for you. If you choose a different route than these two balls, I would recomend finding a high RG ball. They tend to do better for those who have slower ball speeds (15mph or less).

it sounds like with your style you need the black widow drilled with the strong layout not the skid/flip. you can get the layout on hammerbowling.com but make sure you get your pin placed just under your ring finger. its not really aggressive when you have it drilled like that.hope that helps alittle.

well I have a BW and it does hook on the back with really good length to it and my fried just bought a no mercy and says that it is really good on oil but on the dryer condition it has an awkward feel to it, borderline uncontrolable. If you are goona be play in the middle where it seems your oil area sounds to be either ball should do.

The Strong Layout BW does sound right to me. I actually made a point of looking at where my track is and it's more or less high. I'll most likely go with the 16 pounder too. I was at New New Lodi today and I had to keep bouncing between my sling blade and ult inferno to manage averaging 175. I can never figure that place out. Ill see what the pro shop guy says about the placement and pricing. Hopefully the drilling alone doesnt exceed $75 like it did for my inferno. Thanks alot for the help because I really wouldn't have known what layout to go for.

that sounds like a plan to me. i originally wanted to ball to be drilled to the skid/flip and my pro shop guy accidently drilled the strong and im glad he did. i throw a 16# Black Widow and throw about 16-18 mph with hi revs, and the ball just would not hook at all and i was pissed, but then i realized that i just wasnt putting any lift on the ball but was flattening it out so much it wasnt hookin and with just a slight lift the ball gets the revs and smashes the crap out of the pins. i almost made the mistake of havin the ball plugged and redrilled to the skid/flip and i prolly would have been upset with the drill so sorry this was so long but just wanted to fill you in on the strong layout
