Just asked my pro to drill it up today and I'll pick it up for league tonight. I'm a little nervous, but I needed a ball for those oily nights...or 1st couple games anyway. Would like some feedback from other BW owners. Thanks!

I got mine Saturday, and have ony thrown 5 games with it during open play in an oily house with a lot of carrydown. My ball has the all-puropse (http://www.hammerbowling.com/tech_info/detail.php?drilling=Drilling%20Instructions%207) drill with the pin centered below the fingers, and the CG down from the grip midline"

.....
.O.O.

mmmmm

..C..

.....

where:

O - Finger and thumb holes
P - Pin (slightly toward the left finger - I'm a righty)
m - grip midline
C - CG

I throw in the 17-18 MPH range, and am a tweener...

The first game (214), I started my feet 3 boards left of center, and threw the ball about the 8th board. The ball carried very well.

The second and third games (152, 171), I started my feet in the middle, and threw out to the 5th board. When I didn't pull the ball :), it snapped back and destroyed the pins. I'm not comforable throwing this line, but I think that it would be better suited to my Vibe, anyway.

The fourth and fifth games (200 and 205), I moved my feet to 8 boards left of center, and this is where I had the best reaction with my BW. I'd throw the ball to about the 10th board, and worked it out to about 6-7. It would start an accelerating arc at about 40', and made a very strong move into the pocket. Pocket hits carried like nothing I've ever seen before. If I hit the pocket a little light, there was schrapnel everywhere. High flush would also carry very well. I just had to remember not to overthrow it

I was really suprised that I threw as well as I did, because by the time I got to bowl, the lanes had been bowled on the better part of the day, and they were carried down everywhere.

I can't wait to throw this in my Wednesday night league (Next week tho :()

Your milage may vary ;)

Wow...love that ball! 224 right out of the box (165 avg). I owe a lot to our local pro...he is great to work with and he knows his stuff. I have to admit that I don't know much in the way of bowling lingo, but I had my BW drilled pretty much like the 1st layout on the Hammer website. The pro made it a little more aggressive by putting the pin just above the ring finger. I'm a righty stroker, and stand with my left foot on the center dot. I attempt to throw over the 10 board, out to the 5.

Some of you may get a kick out of this...on my very first throw (I got the ball just as our first league game started) the thumb hole was just a little tight. Not having any time to throw a practice ball, I had know idea how tight. I launched the BW straight up in the air to about 10 or 12 feet and half way down the alley! Guess what, I got a strike! Needless to say, several league members had a pretty good laugh at that. The pro took a litte off the thumb hole, brought it back by the next time I was up. I was a little nervous, but all was well...another strike, followed by another one. I decided I really liked this BW. Game two and three were 176 and 174 respectively, due to the same old dumb mistakes a guy with a 165 average makes. In time, I know the BW will help the average go up. It hits the pins hard! Gotta love that! Thanks to Jesse at In the Zone pro shop, and thanks to Hammer! I got away from Hammer for my last two balls, but I'm back.

You will love the ball. Carries thru the oil nicely and has a nice strong flip on the backends. I LOVE the ball. Shot 236, 226, 241 for a 703 last night. GOOD LUCK!:)
