I'm going to be playing in a little scratch tournament this weekend and on the informational flyer it says "Brackets and Nassaus Available". What exactly does that mean?

Well, I'm not sure about Nassaus, but brackets are a type of sidepot. You can sign up for one or multiple brackets that pair you up against another bowler, if you score higher you move to the next round. Think of it like the NCAA basketball tournament. At the house I bowl at they do brackets in groups of eight, with a three dollar buy in, and it pays the first two spots.

BTW, not a stupid question, I didn't know my first time either. If you sign up, find out if you have to come back and record your own score after each round. I made that mistake the first go round.

Funny I thought brackets were for winning league fees.
