I honestly think they are great shots you almost get screwed on.

I think it is luck more than anything else. I might have been a great shot, but without the messenger, you would have a pin still standing.
Plus, getting a strike with a messenger, adds to the excitment of the game.

I'll go with the great shot you almost got screwed on. I see a lot of them when watching the pros, so chances are they're more than just luck. Messengers are fun to witness...will it reach that ten pin...will it fall off the back of the deck??? I'm curious, what pin is it most of the time?

Messengers happen when a ball comes in lighter than perfect. If it was that great of a shot, all 10 would be in the pit. Messengers are pretty cool when they connect!!

most of the time, the messenger is the head pin being slammed against the side wall on the left. i agree with great shot almost got screwed on. they are exciting to watch.

see, i think they are good shots also, but everyone where i bowl thinks i am the luckiest person, becasue i bowled 1004, and got two messengers yesterday in league. so the only reason i have a 214 is average is luck, according to them

Very nice 4 game series, and they're just jealous.

I understand that, I may only have a 194 avg, but its like 5th out of 80+ bowlers and alot of them have been bowling for 10-30 years, some even longer. This one guy brags about being the best bowler in Clarksville (which is where I live) and his avg is only like 188 or something like that. Like I mentioned in another post, I bowl 2 200+ games each week with a sh*tty 150-170 game, so I know I have it in me, even though I've only been in a league for about 8 months.

ya, there is this one guy at my bowl, hes 18, and been bowling since he was 3, he is usally 210 but tis season he is only 203, and he says he is the best bowler in the house just having an off season..well the best bowlers dont have off seasons. and wqith the 2 200+ games and the one 150 or so game, i know exactly how that is, i have been bowling about 190-105 on sport shot since getting my pain , with a 210-220 the first, 150-160 the second, and 201-210 in the third

Personally,,,,,,,I don't care if the shot is dead flush, a high squasher, or a light shaker,,,,,,as long as there is an X in the box it all looks good.
