Buying a RotoGrip Cell... Anyone else got one?

Hey guys,

I am currently going to purchase a RotoGrip cell. (Sorry guys, not a hammer :( :( ) Has anyone else on the forum got one? What do you think of it? need some feedback on it lol

Well, I don't have a Roto Grip Cell, but I have actually come to like Roto Grip. I bought a Neptune, and had it drilled for the weakest drilling, and it is my best finishing ball in my opinion. On an extremely dry lane it will move between 5 and 10 boards, but when it hits the pocket the pins explode. I have seen several people bowling with the Cell, from down and in, to swinging the entire lane. It finishes well and seems to take surface changes well. Good luck with the new ball!

I have heard nothing but good things about the Cell. I have a few friends that throw it and they love it. I definitely think it is a great buy.

ive had mine for two months now i throw mine down and in and love it hooks just enough for me on oily lanes and hits like a ton of bricks before league someboy on here sorry forgot your name said he took his to 4000 grit and loved it well last nite first game 268 i was pretty impressed so you are making a good investment

I like it, I mainly use it on sport patterns though

The Cell is just a great overall ball. On house patterns, sport shots and PBA patterns. The ball has made it's mark everywhere.

the cell is a popular ball around here. I passed on it, there is no way I could throw that ball without polish.

Yeah I got one and I love mine, it is one of the best I have ever thrown. It might be too strong on a house shot, so you might have to play with the surface some, it works great on sport shots OOB though. (I still use mine at 4000 on sport though)

Yeah when we go out for PBAex Nate-(blistershurt) throws about 25 board hook throwing at normal speed, maybe even 20 board hook. It's just that knee that slows him down, Buuuuuutt, that COULD get better. :o

i bought one a few weeks ago and it is a strong ball. too strong for league however so i have had to polish it and it works well. i would say that it's worth the money.

I wouldnt be able to throw one oob, and probably wouldnt be able to polished without throwing it really hard, have seen a lot of them thrown and Im really not impressed with it for all the hype its getting, its just like any other ball you dont take care of them then they dont work, I was talking to a guy and he said my Cell is starting to stop hooking, was like do you clean it or bathe it? got a no, was like that would be why it stopped and told him about the bath method. So I take it as the Cytoplasmic cover soaks up oil just as fast as anything else because hes only had this maybe 4 months.

The Cell reminds me almost exactly of a BWS. To be completely honest. They looked to copy the BWS really, and they almost did, except it handles more oil.

I left it at 4ooo because I'm throwing it on Viper right now and it seems to do better at that, although I'm prolly gonna bathe it and polish it up, it looks like stuff that is snappier does better on Viper to me.

Mines is 4x4 pin under fingers. Fits in nicely with my Bite drilled leverage/high flare and my No Mercy.

I am wantin this ball for sports shots and Tournaments that lay down heavy oil etc. From reading everyones posts seems like i am making a right choice ;) :D

At OOB this ball will laugh at oil, no joke. It EATS oil. Rotogrip was BSing when they said the cover is less absorbent with more hook (well, logic would say so as well).

When I threw my Cell at OOB, the few times I threw it, the Cell ate the oil for breakfast, I had to adjust every shot on a THS.

If you want this for really heavy oil I'd go with a 4x4.

Mine's stacked leverage and I can't use it on anything less than medium as long as there's still oil in the heads

thats fine im on shark next week then viper and cheetah so im fine after that. we can switch styles as u will rules cheetah and i could do good on shark
