I am 5'3 150 pounds male. I bowl with a 13 pound Toxic. Is that a good weight for me? I am comfortable with that weight thru 3 games. 14 for some reason just seems uncontrollable for me. Should I go up in weight?

You should be able to throw any weight with a proper grip(and a freeswing) , but the thing that determines what weight you throw with is your wrist strength. If your wrist can stand a 14, you might want to go up for better carry, and then you should learn a freeswing to help you control it. (I can give you links for this)

i think u should get ur span re-checked and get re-fitted and go to a 14 lb ball becuase it will carry much better because of it having an actual core

I agree with the other guys, Im 5'8" around 135 and I throw 15 and 16, 2 hands of course but still do it. So 14 should be fine for you.

I will go along with the rest. You shold be able to throw 14 lbs, with no problem unless you have a problem with your wrist. One thing I have to ask, when you say a 14 lb. is uncontrollanle, what exactly do you mean? Do you try and throw it harder, or slower ?

14# and up, have the core designed for the ball, alot of time the lighter stuff has different cores.

First off,how old are you??? If you're 10 years old, then that's a good weight. If you're 25 years old, move it on up a pound. If this is a wrist problem, try one of those gloves with the metal bar in the back to keep your wrist straight.

If you cant control a 14, get a proper fit and learn a freeswing (like I said earlier), here's the link to a few articles for a freeswing.
