Well guys, Friday morning at about 2 am I am leaving for Detroit for Junior Gold Nationals. I am both excited and nervous for this year as I am hoping to improve on last years showing. I have everything ready for me. I am bringing 7 balls to practice with, but I can only use 6.

This is what is in the bag:
Track Kinetic Energy, 35* DA, 5" PtoP, 20* VAL angle, OOB surface
Hammer Cherry Vibe, ~70* DA, 5" PtoP, 40* VAL angle, OOB surface
Track Power Machine, ~40* DA, 5.5" PtoP, ~65* VAL angle, 1000 abralon
Hammer Raw Hammer Doom, ~45* DA, 6" PtoP, ~65* VAL angle, OOB surface
Storm Special Agent, 60* DA, 4.25" PtoP, ~45* VAL angle, 1500 Matte surface, slight shine
Brunswick Total Inferno, ~50* DA, 4.75" PtoP, ~60* VAL angle, 2000 abralon

And of course the trusty White Dot spare.

Any suggestions or words of encouragement?!

Good luck. Remember, when you're feeling the pressure, take deep breaths in and let them completely out. And remember, keep slow on the approach and stay low.

Yes, good luck and do exactly what blisters said. One more thing to remember, do not get caught up with what everyone elsde is doing. Concentrate on your own game and you will be just fine.

Good Luck Young, do exactly what Bubba and Blisters said and you should do just fine. Dont pay attention to scores, just go out there and play your game like we all know you know how and the scores will come.

Um i have one suggestion, remember if ur starting with a snappy ball on the fresh because of the fresh backends, it might help to stay behind it as much as possible so it doesn't jerk off the backend, especially for the short shot.

I would be going, but my dad never payed the JOG fee, somebody dropped out and i was next but got skipped. Yea that was fun day learning that out.

street, it was the practice days yesterdays and i think some of today. they bowl on 3 shots so they go from alley to alley to practice on each shot.

Yup, Pain is right. We have just finished the practice sessions today. The first block of qualifying will conclude at about 9 tomorrow night eastern time zone. Don't quite know what time that will be for you, Street, but it will definitely be there. I am getting to start on the short shot tomorrow. Kind of nervous as the short shot is what gave me the most trouble last year. I had a good practice session on it yesterday though. It definitely doesn't play like the Cheetah, despite how much it looks similar. The break is going to be at about 3-5 all day. I am going to knock the polish off of my Doom for it as well as having my Vibe and Kinetic Energy ready to roll. :D

Dude, at the practice session today, I was rolling on the long pattern. 47 ft with low volume to be exact. And I was playing way deep with the KE over 5th arrow. It glided through the heads and absolutely crushed the pocket. :D I had a much more consistent line with my Power Machine though. The line with the Power Machine was much more forgiving though, so I decided to go with that when I bowl the long pattern. :P

Practice lanes always play different than the tournament lanes, especially if its more than one house and one type of surface/lane machine.

All of the Kegel machines are brand new from the manufacturer and they are opened and put together right there. They will play different no doubt as the surfaces are all different.
