I heard about the black widow pearl and just wondering if anyone else has heard about it as well and what it is going to look like and what kind of coverstock is it going to have.....i am guessing the traction pearl like the toxic but not really sure.....and wondering what color is it going to be. I heard about something like a release date of sometime of february. which sucks because i will be out to sea. so if anyone can tell me color and stuff like that i would like that alot.

If you look under PBA.com and go under resources you can find the bowling balls that have been approved. All companies go thru this beofre they release a new ball for sale. Thus you can be ahead of the curve by checking the site once a week or two...the PBA has not approved any Black widow Pearl as of yet, the last Hammer approved was the Toxic on 11/13/06, took about 3 weeks for the first ones to ship and another week or two before they are really available in stength. being we are going into the holidays I do not expect to see anythign new from Hammer until Feb. Keep an eye on the PBA site and you too will know what is coming to your favorite pro-shop or website. But NO BW pearl for a while yet.

Yes, but there are four black widows approved for USBC. (Pearl approved in November)

Maybe the PBA has not approved the Black Widow Pearl but the USBC has it on thier approval list, check it out on page 27-28 there's also another ball that looks pretty sweet it's the Black Widow Harv. If a ball is USBC approved then it should be PBA approved, because so many International bowlers bowl on the tour. This ball was only approved in Nov '06.

Here's another Black widow I wouldn't mind seeing in action. Click on Hammer then check the Black Widow Harv.

I spent 3-1/2 years in Okinawa Japan, plus there is a guy there that post here, his name is USAFBowler. If you are trying to get a ball purchased in Japan, be prepaired to pay an arm and a leg for it, they run about $350-500 plus shipping. Sometimes bowlingball.com will have overseas releases, but they are in limittted quantities.

LotsofRevs is right, Balls in Asia typically are $350-500 and that doesn't include shipping. I do favor the idea of being the only one that has a certain ball. The Ultra Mega X and Tomb Raider that LotsofRevs referred to on bowlingball.com are excellent balls, I have both and score better with my Mega X than I do with my Black Widow.
