So I throw about 14-16 MPH and I don't rotate it that much (but I am working on my rev's though...see my other topic to help me with that...). I was bowling on a very oily shot and it would barely move ... any suggestions... what ball cleaner would you recommend for this ball?

ball cleaner is not going to make your ball move in oil. It may assisi you to a point but not give you the desired reaction like magic potion. Just work on wrist position during practice and hitting the ball more

What do you mean by hitting the ball more?

where do u stand? if u stand far left, try moving over more and more, or slow down. Concentrate on lift too.

That is what is frustrating ... I am standing very far to the right and so when the lanes are really oily it is hard to pick up a 7 pin.

Have the same problem every other week or so, and the lanes are always oiled the same way, heavy. I have alot of rotation and throw the ball between slow and fast, so I dont know what my problem is, LOL. Just work on what others have said and everything should work out. Would you be able to post a pic of how its drilled or no?

1- Coverstock and surface preparation 65-70%
2- Core 15-20%
3- Pin placement and Dynamic weights 10-15%
4- Mass Bias 0-10%
5- Balance hole 0-5%
6- Static Weights 0-2%
THAT FACTORS EFFECT REACTION ON THE BOWLING BALL
the hawg zilla is 4000 grit, how smooth is that? its almost like polish, so basicly at 4000 grit, your ball will basicly just skid on oil because it cant grip nothing to get traction, correct? and also doesnt 4000 grit shine vert quickly? i suggust, take the surface to 1000 grit, then oil it on oil.
thats my thoughts

So your suggesting me and any others who are having a hard time getting the Hawg Zilla to hook hard like its supposed to, to go and get it polished or take the surface to 1000 grit (whatever that is)? Hows come in videos and when "Tony Reyes" threw the Hawg Zilla it was hookin alot, guess I just suck at bowling.

no sand it up to 1000 and see how it goes, all i am saying is, 4000 grit shines easy so it will lose power because it is shined so what you do is you can resurface it to 4000 or try 1000 grit get what i am saying and how long has tony reyes been bowling for? and he has proberly got some exotic drilling on his ball or the lanes could have had a big backend? correct? i wouldnt know i havent seen the video

How much would it cost for a proshop to resurface it to 1000 grit, and would they know what I'm talking about if I asked them about it? I know they should, but 1 of the guys at the proshop I go too seems kinda retarded. When he drilled my Saw Blade, he completely screwed it up and now I have to stretch my hand a 1/2" to reach the holes, and that is finger tip. I can still throw it fine, it just aint as smooth and comfortable as the Hawg Zilla. I guess I could go there and ask them about it just to see what they say. The lanes I bowl on are always oiled pretty heavy, and oiled the same way everytime.

Will do, I'm off work today, Monday and Tuesday, and bowl Wednesday night, so I'll probably go there either today or tomorrow and if they do resurface it, I'm gonna practice as much as I can, or as deep as my pockets will allow. Its cool because the lanes I bowl at all the time just opened their proshop, we'll all the proshops in my town are all the same company. Check it out here, www.bowlingsupersource.com

Ok, thanks alot... So would you suggest that I just use the HawgZilla for dry conditions, because I am going to get a new bowling ball, the infintite one, because I was recommended to get that ball. So the lower the grit, the more it will move right? What exactly is grit... but thank you for your help and I will definitely go get my ball sanded.

the zilla on dry conditions? bah, have a coach watch you throw a few, it could be that you just need to improve on your release a bit

I agree with Daorge, Have someone check out what your doing! Don't do anything drastic until you know exactly what's wrong.
Are you righty or lefty? what's your ball speed?
xjoe87x

I am righty and throw about 15 MPH ... I know I need to get more revs on my ball, but it should still be hooking alot more than it is...
