It will not move! If I throw it at 10 mph and put everything I have into the revs, it still wont move. I have noticed this the last couple of weeks that it has just stopped moving like it used to. I have bathed it, had the pro shop fix it up for me and still nothing. I'm lucky to get 5 boards out of it. It has become an expensive spare ball. Any ideas on what to try? I would like to put this ball back in my regular line up and not just spares. I have drilling number 3 on it from the sheet.

Still have it at oob finish?, the consensus here says take it down to 2000 abralon and it will be a much better ball for you.

Already did that and it was awesome, for a couple of weeks, and then this started to happen.

How many games do you have on it? It may need a hot water bath...

.... I am 80% sure he's running into the same thing I did. Rollout/Burning up. During the summer, alot of houses skimp on the oil, in fact they'll go days without laying something down unless they have a large amount of leagues. Even then, they'll only oil during league night. Talk to the someone at the center and find out if this is the case. With the untrained eye I would be just as frustrated as you. Instead I moved to about 25-30 range with my feet and went for a break point much closer to the pocket, say about 10 board or closer. Try moving deeper then report back. Alot of centers get lazy on maintenance during the summer....... Oh yea I was throwing the BWP as well.

The house that I bowl at also skimps on the oil as well in the summer.
The Monday evening shot in the summer is much better than the Tuesday evening shot. The last practice set that I shot was a week ago yesterday. I ended up with my feet at 32, threw the ball from 12-6, and watched my BWB roar into the pocket. I shot an 838 over 4 games (different line and speed each game), but the lanes were definitely flying. I wanted to make sure I was coming out of me new BWB cleanly. I shot a 259 the last game, so I guess I was :)

Hammerhead, Take the ball to your pro shop and let him evaluate the problem. The house you bowl in might have changed something that you are not aware of. Or it could need a deep cleaning and then take it down to 1000 abralon. The ball will be smooth through the heads at first but agter a few games it will react the way you want it to.

Doesn't sound like too little oil. If that was the case the thing would have too much hook. You've already cleaned it and taken it down to 2000,so it's not that.
Only things that come to mind are a change in the type of oil thats going down on the lane, the amount of oil,(Are they putting MORE down, not less) and the weather. You had all that rain and now you have humidity out the whazoo, that'll pull oil to the top of the lane sometimes.
If it's none of those after you check with the house, the only thing left to do is cram the ball into a Hook Again chamber.

Valid points Rowdy, but it also depends on the throwing style. I'd get little to no movement with less oil if I got it too far outside. That's only because of the amount of forward roll I normally use.

Agree with Rowdy, Hook Again is a Great Product. I've used it 4 times for myself. Honestly, I only do if I really like the ball.
But my question is what did the Proshop do to "Fix it"?

Thanks for the help guys. I have thought about the hook again chamber, but wanted to see if it could be something else. Rowdy I am used to bowling with the humidity and it is no more humid than it normally is, I think 100% humidity is the same no matter what.
TenPin I am beginning to wonder the same thing. I had to go the pro shop I hate because I was desperate to get all the oil out of it, which I dont think they did anything.
I will talk to my house and see if anything is different. If nothing has changed I will take it to the 2nd best pro shop in town, since the best got shut down to make way for an AMF 300 center.

10mph and revs should move the ball, even in heavy oil don't you think??? I'm just going off what he wrote since it's the only info I have to work with. There's no mention of a change in style,so I don't belive it's that either.
