In adult leagues what feats are reconized. I know a couple of obvious ones, ie. 298,299,300 games, 800 and 900 series all get rings. 11 in a row gets a plaque. What else is there?

where have you been? it started last year that you do not get a ring for 298 or 299 anymore you just get the 11 in a row plague they have elimanated most of the awards and after this year you can get 1 more 300 ring there going to the once in a life time award and after you get it you cant get anymore so most of the leagues in my area wont be sancationing after next year because its just pointless:confused: i want to know were all the money is going? we will collect a sanction money and put it in a fund and when someone shoots an honor score we take money out of fund to buy them a ring and whatever money is left goes to the prize fund so there is really no point to sancation unless you bowl alot of tournaments

Last I heard the "one ring per lifetime" was put on hold. 299 and 298 rings are still being made, you just to pay $70 for it. (lol)

This season,('08-'09) is still the "Once in a lifetime" deal. Next season,('09-'10),will return to,"Get as many as you qualify for",like it used to be.

The USBC is saving the money on awards so they can cover the Mayflower bill when they move to Texas. Not the bill to move the USBC,the bill to move the people. You didn't think THEY were gonna fork over thier own cash, did you? Not when they found out how much more money it will cost them to live in the Metroplex. The USBC will call it an,"unavoidable but one time" expense, and spend our dues money to pay the movers.

We,as always, will have no say in the deal.

Life will go on.

May the USBC die a quick death and be taken over by the BPAA.:)

Just about everything you could possibly throw there is a patch or pin for, some I have gotten are, 700 series (like 4 years ago), 75 pins over average game, 140 pins over average series etc. lots of them just dont remember most.

This is the most recent information I've seen. Hopefully I'll get my copy of the 08-09 rule book soon.

edit: I found the rule book online. The awards didn't change this season. Who know what's up for next year...

USBC Board postpones changes in awards program

3/13/2008

The United States Bowling Congress Board of Directors has decided to postpone any changes in the awards program for one year, and has promised to review the previously-announced "once-in-a-lifetime" proposal during that time.

That means the awards program currently in place for the 2007-08 season will remain in place for 2008-09 while the entire program is once again reviewed.

Go to www.bowl.com (http://www.bowl.com) and look 'em up. There's so many awards these days I've rolled a series and found out later that I won something I had no idea existed.

Is there still the one for perfect league attendance??? Talk about a meaningless award. Here's a patch just for showing up and breathing each week.

The only awards I care to get anymore are for a 298,299,300 and Dutch 200 game. And I'd be the most proud of the Dutch 200 since there are so few of those thrown every year.

Vicious Rumor has it that the USBC will go back to the "Old Way" with the awards starting in '09-'10 season.

I got this straight from a delegate to the USBC convention who knew how damn cheesed off I am at The Clowns in Greendale. The Word from on-high was for the delegates to go back and try to pacify the league bowlers who are making all the noise.

My best guess is as soon as the move to Texas is a done deal we'll get our awards back. Kinda like a pay-off. Looks like we sold out too cheap again.

There was not much of talk of awards going around at this conventions, I attended a couple of events at this years convention.

Slaps quote pretty much summed it up. It will be reviewed by the Folks in uh, Dallas.

Alternating Strike and Nine Spare (9/) each frame in a game.

It dosen't have to be a 9/ it can be any count the first ball as long as the end result is a spare.

5/....X....9/....X......8/....X......9/.....X.....7/......X9/
20...40...60...80...100...120...140...160...180... 200

I rolled mine 2 years ago and it was one of my proudest moments.

Strike, spare, strike, spare etc,the game totals out to 200. There's only about 3 to 5,000 of them thrown a season vs almost a million 300 games.

lol never had one of these before until 2 weeks ago, did it on purpose, left lane threw it hard right at the 4 pin, would leave a makeable spare and pick it up, right lane struck all the way out, I was so excited, more than I was for my 300 really. Also was cool cause I did it on purpose, told my gf at the beginning of the game I was gonna try it, never tried before so was cool.

Wait until you need that last strike to not only get the Dutch but win a singles, team and all event with one shot. I was shaking so hard I almost couldn't get my feet to move. It was the worse I've ever been on an approach. I only shook about a tenth as hard on the last strike for my first 300.

That would be very interesting, how did you bowl singles and team at the same time though?......Well the last strike is the easy one, its the first 2 that I shake/shook on.

Yeah it was combined deal to save time. Whatever you rolled by yourself with the team was your score for singles. I might not have been shaking so bad if someone hadn't told me I needed nine to tie,ten to win on the last ball.

ooo ok venue didnt want to waste space and time on the lanes for people to bowl singles on so they made more money by filling up those lanes with teams bowling, that makes sense. Yea that would definately do it, like Ronnie Russell telling Ciccone its the shot of his life at the doubles tournament last year, its like gee thanks for that.

Yeah, while I needed to know that I had to have the strike it would have been better to be told starting the 10th that I needed three to win. Of course being the only guy left bowling at the time wasn't a picnic either. The house is packed and you could have heard an ant fart,it was so quiet. After the first shot in the 10th I asked those guys to make some kinda noise behind me so any small thing wouldn't have spooked me.
