Jeez, this getting up early,(6 am),to bowl at 10 am is killing me. Rolling practice at 9 is NOT how I want to wake up every day. Oh well,on to the scores:
1st game-236 +36 Not bad.
2nd game-187 +23 Still okay.
3rd game-186 +9 Hmm,going the wrong way here.
4th game-157 -32 And I am P...I...S...S...E...D O...F...F!!! Big time.
5th game-245 +13 Showing emotion is so nice sometimes. Cut is +31
6th game-193 +6 Cut is down to +15. I'm still in it.
7th game-182 -6 Crap. Cut is +14. Only 20 out.
8th game-172 -34 Cut moved to +35. I knew I was toast by the 5th frame. The two guys ahead of me threw high 270 games.
Ah well,at least I won two brackets,($40),picked up $40 rolling for cash afterwards and $60 playing,"Strike with everything in the bag",We toss $20 each into a pot and first guy to strike in a row with every ball in his bag, including the spare ball, get's the pot.
$55 out,$140 in. Not bad for a days work.:)

Rowdy,
Give us some more info:
Were you at a PBA Regional? If so, where?
What pattern were you on ?
What balls did you use?
Thanks!

Travel League?

Yeah,it's a traveling league and luckily this month was at my usual house. Only a 45 minute drive. Next month's league is at the house where my favorite Pro Shop is at,so I know how to roll there.
One thing I discovered last night is that I really miss using the two lane courtesy in the traveling league compared to the one lane thats used in regular leagues. I roll so much better using the two lane deal.

Traveling league.
Nasty house shot. No one goes 300 on this bad boy. Medium oil from the 12 out, heavier inside of that and the thing is long. Around 45 feet.
BWS that was redrilled and the N'saneLevRG.

The 2 lane deal is a very nice thing, on the league I bowled last year (it was a handicapped league surprisingly), 90% of the better bowlers did the 2 lanes thing, was much easier to concentrate and not worry about someone coming into view.

Bottom line is that I average higher at the same house with the same shot when we use the two lane courtesy. Right now it's a 25 pin difference.
Guess I'm getting spoiled in my old age.

Thats crazy that it makes that much of a difference, are you really opened up at the line?, just trying to figure out why it would make that huge of a difference with everything else being the same, also are there a lot better bowlers in the league your averaging 25 pins higher in?

I'm running the biggest difference, but all of us notice an improvement when using the 2 lane courtesy. Best we can figure out is that with the 2 lane deal we don't have to worry about someone walking back from throwing thier shot and getting in our way, sticking a foot out on the follow through and keeping it there way too long or,believe it or not, some doofus running out a strike. I know,I know,it's tacky and all but some of these guys swear they're on Tour at league night.
Funny thing happened the other night: We have two poles that are about 2 feet short of the foul line that hold the roof of the house up between lanes 4 and 5, and lanes 9 and 10. Guy throws a ball on lane 6 and runs out the strike. Only problem is he runs smack into the pole down by lanes 9 and 10! Knocked himself slap out,he never did see what the ball did. Left a 10 pin. He lost.

on of the bowlers in my league tends to that very often,
he during normal league play he goes almost a half lane to the right.
During play offs , he goes 1 full lane to the right.
I tend to go to the right when my ball goes brooklyn (kind of guiding it to the right spot for the brooklyn).:)
