Information on Top Weight and Pin Pos.

Im in the market for a few new balls, and im looking at the Venom and the Emerald Vibe, my question is what would proper top weight and pin position for these, i mostly play 10 to 5 or around there and im just curious before i order

your ball driller should be able to help you with that more than we could unless your buying it from an online proshop

yeah i am im going through buddies cuz ive had good luck w/ the products there...guess im just going to dig for an old box on my bite and see what that was for both

It depends on what you want the ball to do. The Pin to CG distance is important for ball drillers to create different ball motions. The "Pin" is both the top of the inner core assembly and the lowest RG axis of the ball. It is the distance from the Pin location to the CG mark that is commonly referred to as the "Pin Distance" of the ball. Different pin distances give the person optimum performance ranges and drilling options for the many types of players.

Balls are considered pin in if the CG to Pin distance is 1 1/2 inches or less and pin out of the distance is 2 or more inches.
Pin out balls provide a greater variety of drilling options, but pin in balls are not bad either. A pin in ball will tend to read the dry of the lane a bit sooner than the pin out.
I use both, but it is easier to create different ball reactions with the pin out balls. Try to use a ball with 3 oz. or less of Top weight.

thanks bubba usually my proshop guy drills all my stuff "long and strong" so to speak, and this year i want different reactions out of these 2 balls, im going to start the year out w/ my bite because i finished so strong with it, but im going to have the emerald and the venom in the bag as well, i didnt know much about all that stuff thats why i asked, so thanks for the info
