Well, we had some success this past week. Our team took first place in Europe!! I finished 6th in all events. I ended up with a 3490 over 18 games. (193.8 avg) I am really happy considering we rolled on the Viper pattern. This was probably my first experience on a Viper (I have bowled on a sport shot a total of 3 games before but I am not sure what it was) and I ended with a higher average on the Viper than our house shot (192 avg)....It makes no sense...lol

I had a lot of fun, but those sports patterns can leave you mentally exhausted. (6 games a day) Hopefully my base starts a PBA exp. league.

Now on to the equipment that I used. I am a lefty/stroker. My BWP at 2000 Polished was money shooting straight up the 10 board. When lanes started breaking down a bit, I brought out the Bite II (BWP at 4000) and moved inside a bit and it worked great. Because of the Humidity, the lanes were changing so fast! Now, before the tourney I was all but ready to give up on my Bite. It just wasn't working well for me. I am glad I didn't. My Bite was set up at 1000 Polished. As the lanes continued to breakdown, I pulled out the Bite and found that moving inside (feet started on the 21 board/target was about 16/17 board keeping it from going outside 10 worked really well. Outside of 10 was OB) The Bite saved me big time! I was about ready to put this thing on my shelf for display. Although the Venom is my new favorite ball, I wasn't able to use it because it was too strong.

The second day I got to use the Razyr because the lanes were so fried (They didn't oil between sets). I am really impressed with the ball. I think you may see a small jump in Razyr sales because a lot of people were asking about it when all their gear was too strong for the shot.

Overall I was really happy. I still have a lot work to do but I am getting there. (I was sitting at a 172 avg 4 years ago). My Bite will no longer sit on the shelf. I knew my Hammer stuff was the best, but it really shines on the hard stuff!

Boomer ,Congrats on the 1st Place team finish and the 6th Place over all .

It makes perfect sense Boomer. With these patterns you need to make your adjustments and ball changes fast. This is why PBA and Sports shots make a better bowler out of us.

This is one reason I preach never give up on a particular ball . One day you never and you never know when, you will take that ball out of the bag and have it do it's job when other balls just are too strong or not enough, And also teaches us about the importance of different coverstock adjustments on different covers.

This ball is a truly great ball for fried conditions. You can throw the Razyr on fried conditions and still get great length and still know it's going to make it's nice easy move to the pocket.

Conhrats again Boomer on the excellent bowling and keep up the great work

Congrats on the overall performance, glad to see you were feeling comfortable with the equipment.

Like Bubba said lanes conditions and the type of bowlers you bowl with will make you a better bowler. The harder conditions, that lanes that break down fast will force you to change and change fast, as the military says you must adapt, change, and overcome.

Also never give up on equipment. It will surprise you when you least expect it.

Totally agree on not giving up on equipment. I just learned that lesson this weekend. I was about to give up on my Bite and Venom. In the house where I bowl league...these balls just take off and leave all sorts of stuff. They are very speed sensitive and you better nail your mark. But, I went to a different house and had a GREAT shot with the Bite and rolled a 299 (light 7-pin).

Congrats on the tourny. Very nice how you adjusted and knew what would work in your arsenal. Nice feeling when you have the confidence in your equipment.
