last night in league shot a 696 with my venom games were 237-217-242 so close to getting my 700 but what really hurts had just enough money to pay for league so I didn't get into strike pot last night and guess what? you guessed it I would have won it 250 bucks down the drain could've bought me the sauce. lol

But look at it this was, If you were in the strike pot , it would always be on your mind that you needed so many strikes to win the $250. Maybe it was for the best you couldn't get in. well done on the 696, the 700 is just round the corner so don't worry to much.
As for the strike pot, we do similier to that, i have only just have enough to bowl but not enough to enter it. I would ask a friend in the league if i could borrow it till next week, just make sure that if you do win the money you pay them back and buy them a drink as thanks.
