View Full Version : So I want to change my shot up a bit

I used to throw with 2 fingers in the ball and i played a down and in shot. i scored very well this way and i was very consistent. ever since throwing with 3 fingers now i am not quite as consistent with my shot. i have revs and speed but i want to go down and in. i was wondering on what type of ball i should use? i want to get that consistent look back. sometimes for fun i throw my plastic ball down 10 and its very consistent.
should i go with a razyr? i think that would over react for me on the dry.
i was thinking of buying a scout and trying that out, or perhaps a jazz.
i also thought about different drill techniques such as a RICO or a sarge easter.
what are some recommendations u guys think?

a jazz with something like a 1.5 to axis drill would be really good i think.

just out curiosity, why was this moved from equipment and layouts? it was about equipment/layouts  just wondering dont mind though :)
would the jazz be too strong for me? my plastic ball moves back to the pocket quite well when going down and in.
and you must explain this axis drill for me plze :)

The Pin Axis Drill is when the Pin is placed directly on your PAP with the Cg being placed on your midline. This layout will produce the most roll with the least amount of skid. By placing a good size Balance hole on your PAP, you can increase this affect. This will allow you to play straighter down . The Hook potential is about 20% and the Backend is about 40%.
I feel the Razyr would be better suited for drier conditions . It will give you control and the amount of backend you are seeking. Also try taking alittle hand out of the release to be more consistent at hitting your target when playing straight down shots.
I moved this to the main section because it seemed although it had a question about a ball reaction, that is was more General related than a technical questiondirected toward equipment in general. It also had a question about a line you wanted to play.

thanks a lot bubba!
as far as taking my hand out of it more, i dont have a problem with accuracy going straighter, just my equipment is just entirely too aggressive. i need a very mild ball and want to try and get back to going straighter

Then you will be ok with the Razyr or a ball drilled with the Pin on Axis, and you could also try some polish on it.

I want a Razyr too...i have a Scout, so i'm just sticking with it. Doesn't make the wanting one go away.
Hope to hear how you like it after you get one.

sry but from everything i've seen the jazz with a pin on axis drill would hit much better than the razyr

Get the Black and Red Bash, drill it for length, no snap with this ball, its length and smooth backend. Or like previously mentioned the Razyr.
