This tuesday I have the District bowling tournament for my Highschool team. Im a freshman and I am the leader on the team with a solid 170 average. My team isnt all that great but we have our moments. Lately I have had problems with spares on the right side because my spare ball isnt working right now. I do grip the ball somewhat so ive been getting it opened until it felt comfortable, but lately it is really sticking to my thumb on the release. Any suggestions on how to fix this? and dont say to stop gripping it im working on it.. Also wish me luck on my first time bowling on a Sport pattern with my Psycho and no spare ball. =/

Its not the ball thats not working first off. Second if its hanging up there might be a pitch problem, would go to the pro shop and get your pitches checked. If you want to stop gripping it, get the ball redrilled and dont have them bevel the holes at all, I personally guarantee this will make you stop squeezing it.

what im saying is that i might need to get the pitch checked.. its funny lol my first fingertip ball was drilled wrong so now i dont know what right is.. when they ask me if it feels right i just say sure and move on.. lol

u shud get out of the habit of that cuz that cud mess up your game.

I went through that phase when I was around your age, only 17 now, but I know what feels right now that I have a really good driller and I got my pitches changed, you'll know what feels right when you cant feel the ball hanging up one bit and you can feel your thumb clear then fingers come around the ball thats when you know its right. Mine is so clear right now that you cant hear the ball hit the lane.

hahaha we bowl baker style.. so its not as much of a difference.. and my school is 3,000+ students.. we just have not very many people that care about bowling.. and our population is (not to sound racist) like 70% black. And i dont know as many bowlers that are black that care about it as much as all the white nerds lol =P

a 170 average wil make varsity here. we have like 1250 kids, but we can barely make the whole team. bowling is bad around here because we live in a huge hunting area, and the nearest alley is like 25 min area.

lol I live in a 40% black, 30% white, 15% spanish, and 15% Asian or other in my school. Roughly that anyways.. Maybe more % black idk.. anyways any bowling in florida isnt really that big.. I mean yes there are people that are good and stuff but central florida Orange County. In Orlando its not as popular to be a bowler..
