Been wanting to change my finger inserts myself for a while now. Don't really know if its because I want to save money or for the obsession of the sport. Needless to say the inserts read 23 on my ring finger and 3 on my middle......this is inside the insert which is already in the ball. When I look up the insert size on a website they do not have these sizes.

Are you sure your looking up the right company/kind of grips?

I'm not a pro shop guy, but I'm pretty sure 23 is 23/32 and 3 is 3/4.

Yea........I just looked again......no 3 or 23. I like the idea of the 3/4 and the 23/32. Ill call the company tomorrow. Called the pro shop and would you believe that a guy in there who I dont know wouldn't give me the size that is on my chart. He asked me to bring the ball in....told him I didnt have time and he said he was busy at the moment and I never called back.....the balls on this guy
There are a few guys here who own/work in pro shops. I'm sure one of them will be along shortly to help you out.

23 = 23/32 or number 5 in Vise
3 = 3/4 or number 6 in Vise
Vise is numbered on both the outside and inside

The # of my finger inserts are on the outside of the grip. The middle finger is a #8 and the ring finger is a #6. I think the 8 is 3/4? But you should be able to go to Ebay and contact one of the bowling sellers that sell finger grips and get an answer. And as a good will gesture, order them from that company.

Thank you guys for all the info......it should help. Now, Im going to need a grip puller I guess. I see they run about $25 bucks correct. Just insert the puller and twist and pull. Some glue and I'm done?:o
I use a tool for inserting tape to remove my grips although I'm sure it's easier with a grip removal tool.

How bout a flat headed screw driver? You don't need a fancy tool, but if you want one have at it.

The guy that runs the pro shop at the lanes I bowl at ussd a simple pair of long nose pliers. It works real well, unless the person that put them in glued them all the way around instead of at four points. Good luck

Use a good flat head screw driver as well.

I've switched to using contact cement instead of super glue. It allows easy removal without destroying the insert and leaving a mess to clean up in the hole.
