OK I got the 3G shoes in Tried them on and the fit good.

I was looking online at #2 slide sole. I have been to two websites and both of them sites have there heel and soles on closeout.. Why? Is 3G not going to be making them anymore? Are they changing there design?

I need to know if I should stock up on heel and soles OR send the shoes back and get the Dexters.

Maybe the websites had an overstock on heel and soles and are just on closeouts for discounted prices? By anychance were the websites advertising them as dyno-thanes? That could be another reason as they might be closing out the old stock of Dyno-Thane. I don't think 3G is going anywhere, but I do not know for certain.

Yes they was listed as Dyno-thane. I'm not sure. They don't have anything listed under 3G for accessories... Maybe there going to sell all the Dyno-Thane before selling under the 3G name???? I Dunno..

I see that bowling.com lists them as closeout. Was this was one of the sites you were looking at? Buddies lists the soles as Dynorooz and they're not on closeout. Being that the replacement soles come as a square and you cut them to size, I would think you can use the Dynorooz for the 3G shoes.

Yes that was one of the sites. The other one was MGbowling.com

They look like they will fit just fine (the heels). Like you said soles should not matter since they need to be cut. (not sure I like that idea either) I have not found parts listed as 3G yet...

Bowlingballsales.com has them listed (not closeout) for a pretty decent price with free shipping...

I think I may order some for myself. :D

The Dynaroos brand has been renamed 3G. That was the only change. I recently bought a 3G heel, and it fits perfectly. The soles need to be cut out anyway. The only issue with getting "Dynoroos" shoes is that the Dynaroos name is no longer PBA certified (I'm not in any danger of becoming a PBA member ;))

Does a shoe have to be PBA certified just to bowl as a non member in a PBA event?

If so I better keep my linds or trade these for some Dexters.. LOL Not that I am going to do it ofen but once I get my groove back I will enter one here and there.

PinSlayer, if you have the 3G (Newer model) then you are fine, as I believe they are on the approved list, The older Dyno-Thane Dynorooz are no longer approved.

I'm not sure about that. There are a few PBA members here on the board that would likely know.

I've had my 3G's for over a year and my pro shop guy told me a year ago i wasnt going to be able to get any more of the soles but I'm still getting a new sole every couple of months. So who knows whats going to happen.

Well once I use them and figure out what I will use the most I will buy a few to keep on hand.

What does everyone use to cut the sole out?

I am think just use a marker to trace the one that came with the shoes then use some scissors to cut it out. All Ideas welcome..

I am guessing that the 3G soles are of a like for like material to the Dextors that i have.
For cutting my nex heels or sliders down i just pop down to my local shoe repairs, and as i did do shoe repairing for a while he just lets me use the machines, i dont expect them to allow everyone to use the machines but pop into your local and see if they will trim round them for you.

The PBA has an Approved Equipment List. Which means everything that you use for bowling for a PBA Tournament Regional or National, from balls to grip sacks must be an approved product whether as a PBA Member or Non Member. 3G's are on the approved list and are ok to wear during competition.

And here is one little tidbit some may not know about. Those little tags on the back of your dress pants such as Dockers or Something else, Must be removed for competition.

Here is a Link to the PBA Approved product list. http://www.pba.com/resources/equipmentSponsors.asp?Type=1

I was wondering about that. Let me guess - you wear Dockers for competition? ;)

Pleated, or flat front? I like pleated myself...
