Well I got the shoes in last week but was not able to get to the lanes before league on Sunday. I did get there early and rolled 3 games to get comfey with the shoes. (the 3G Sport Ultra's)

Before rolling a ball I done the approach without a ball to see what setup I would need. Tried the #4 sole with the Flat Normal heel.

Stick slide stick slide stick slide..

Changed the sole to the number 3.

Same thing.

Changed the heel to the Leather

Same thing. Went back to the #4 sole and kept the leather heel. Perfect slide.. It seems like the 4 slides more than the 3 does. (the lower the number the faster the slide should be)

Well I take it easy when I started to bowl since the shoes are new and I now have a ball so I may slide too much. Plus my arm has been sore for a couple of weeks. Takes a couple of hames to loosen it up.

Well two games before league were 180's. But that's OK I was feeling the shoes out.

Started league and shot the first 600 since I been bak on league. (4th week) Shot a 202 230 218. First game left a 9 pin and a miss and also one split just like Walter R had during the tourney.. Solid pocket shot and left 8-10. Go Figure..

Second game clean. Third game one open. (7 pin)

All and all it was a good night.. I am happy with the shoes. The only draw back I can see is there is not enough arch support for my foot.. BUT that's not a big deal I can buy inserts..

Thanks to everyone that sugested the 3G's.. Now I have to figure out if I want to order another set to have a spare set on hand just in case.. Or should I just buy extra soles and heels in the ones I am using.

Thanks..

My slide was smooth and stable every time. The soles are wider than my linds so I guess that helps with balance... Now that I have the lide worked out maybe I can start shooting some normal scores 90% of the time. (normal for me)

Glad you like the shoes. I was amazed how much difference really good shoes make. I also noticed that I can't keep the same sole/heel combo at every house. I normally shoot at an AMF house and use 1 sole there but use a completely different sole at the Brunswick zone near my house. It takes some working with the soles to get a feel for the right combination at each house.

Well I had a good pair of shoes before these (linda Exxxtra) I think since they did not quite fit me any longer that didn't help me with my slide.. As far as changing heel and or soles from house to house. I had to do that with the linds also. I can't figure out why I can slide better (more) with the #4 sole over the #3 sole..

Thanks.. I feel more confident now that I konw I will not stick slide stick.. LOL
That allows me to focus on the mark and not think about what could happen..

Pin Slayer, it's good to hear the shoe are ok and you made the right choilce. Order another set of heels and soles to have on hand just in case . But it doesn't hurt to have a second pair of shoes to fall back on when needed.

I just switched from the #4 sole to the #3 sole and mine slides more than the #4s (I'm using the leather heel also) - it could be the surface on the approaches that is making th difference in your slide...

Well I was doing that without a ball so maybe my weight was too far forward making it feel like it was not sliding. I dunno. But I am hapy with the shoes.

I was going to order another pair this week but the wife is out of work sick so I will wait and just order the heel and sole for now. Thanks It was your post that got be to buy the 3g's over the SST8's

You said "The SST's are a good shoe. The 3G's are a great shoe"

I wish I would have bought new shoes 2 months ago when I bought the balls. Maybe I would not have gotten so frustrated.

I did find a pair of Dyno's just like the 3G's I got for $65 free shipping.. I may just order them to have for the backups..
