Have you tried using a peice of White Tape under your thumb pad, for some "traction".
Is the thumb hole lose?

Is the thumb hole too large for you?
I use tape on my thumb This is what I use.

All my thumb holes are a little on the large side. I want them that way. I put the tape on if needed. When it's hot in the alley or when I bowl a bunch of games my thumb swells up so I just remove the tape and the ball still fits perfect. I don't have to worry about being away and needing a adjustment done to the thumb hole.
Last week it was cold out and the first two games I bowled before league I had to put two on. I have not had to do that before but when league started about 1/2 way in the first game I had to remove both of them.
I like using this because it's gast and easy and there is not any sticky left overs in the ball if I had to remove tape from the ball.

All mine are drilled exactly that way on purpose. Are you dropping the ball on release??

Check on the thumb size being too big first. Whats your span and thumb pitch. Too much reverse will cause this as well. And most people have too much reverse and too big a thumb hole.

they all fit perfectly, but since it's cold out now my thumb has obviously shrunk, i use tape on the back and recently on the front but i don't prefer white tape on the front because i don't get a smoothe release, i use tape on my thumb if blisters begin to show... i was reading up on cork inserts, maybe i will try that...

....what causes blisters ????

grabbing, but i think that's a result of having to squeeze going up because the thumb mihgt be too loose, but when i make it wayyy too snug the ball won't come out

perhaps the pitches are incorrect, I would get a 2nd drillers opinion, or your grabbing, good way to stop this is force your thumbnail to touch the ball throughout the release

perhaps the pitches are incorrect,
Blisters are caused by friction, nothing else. I would start with the pitches as well. Even if the fit is right, improper pitches can cause you to rub in spots.

I know blisters are caused by friction, but pitches can cause exactly that

I know.... I highlighted your post and agreed that he should get a 2nd opinion. I was actually directing my post to Corey. Showing him that not just squeezing can cause blisters

Like Blue and Daorge said I agree that its a pitch problem, I was having problems like this around 6 months ago, felt like I was loosing it and was getting blisters on the left side of my thumb, I had too much reverse pitch and not enough left pitch, moved 1/8 up and 1/4 left and was perfect.
Where are the blisters located?

on the left side of my thumb (i'm a righty), i noticed alot of hte professionals use new skin or tape on their inner thumb, not the outer, my blister problem is on the outside as i stated before

not enough left pitch, might be a very slight problem but you'll feel the world of different. I used to use Ebonite Protection Tape for on my thumb when I used to get blisters, but now that I got the pitch change I dont need it. If you do decide to use that make sure to get the light blue color and not the red, the light blue is a lot stickier and lasts longer on your hand.

You could need more left pitch.... Laterals have to be way off for them to cause blistering.
More likely your rotating the ball while your thumb is on the way out or the oval is the wrong angle and/or shape.
