Default Bowling shoes

What's the best way to clean the soles of a pair of bowling shoes? I have a pair of Lind's that have some gunk on the soles. I want to do a real cleaning, in addition to hitting it with a scotch-brite pad.

Thanks in advance.

Soap and Water is what I use for my Dexter, just needs lots of dry time. Maybe heat gun or hair drier.
