Default I need some clue how to play the Tokyo pattern

Folks,

Is anyone in a sport league that is using the World Tenpin championship patterns? If so, anyone have experience on the Tokyo pattern (43 ft)? Any help would be appreciated.

Mike

Length does determine alot but at the same time it doesn't mean it a flood either... Believe that one of the shorter patterns has more volume than all of them. Where does the taper or transition from inside to out at 40-42' If the volume lessens at say 9-10-11 boards abouts then there you for one idea.

Don't ever think your preconceived notion will be right. Just try to be prepared.

General rule is the longer the pattern, the more inside you play, get too far out and the ball won't have a chance to come back. I know that's probably more simplistic of advice than you're looking for, but still.

Well said...

Here is a rule that might help Pattern Length-31=Break Point... so 43-31=12 at the break point or toward the end of the pattern.

But as alot who have played the Sports have found the patterns do always play as expected.

Not really IMHO our THS around here in 3 houses I fequent is 42 .It depends on the vloume and how wide the oil is ! Like is it really lite from 5 to 1 or 10 to 1 or dry out to say 12 or 15 forcing you to play deep .

Don't know a thing about the patern but you should be able to find the layout of the oil patern some place on the net .

If iam missing somthing feel free to jump right in and tell me

I have searched a lot for advice, and there are only generalities. I think i'm going to try to play this similar to the Scorpion

Looking at the pattern right now. Mentally envision 2 traffic cones stacked on to of each other pointing at the pins. The base of the bottom of the first cone is at 6 feet with heavy oil through the shape of the cone with the top of the cone at 20 feet. The base of the 2nd cone is at 18 feet with medium oil through the shape of the cone with the top of the cone at 36 feet. Light oil everywhere else the top cone is not at all the way to 43 feet. I have had decent luck with my Jigsaw Corner (drilled late) starting with my feet at about 10 and throwing out to about 5. Don't throw it too hard. Hope that helps.
