Hey guys, it's been a while since I've posted, but I'm back. I've been bowling a lot lately, average a 196 , and I throw a 15 pound BVP Rampage 15-16 mph consistantly. Do you guys think I should go up in weight?

Why? What is it you're looking to gain. If it ain't broke don't fix it.

I just thought that the carry is better and it would help my ball set up if I slow my ball speed down. Right now, I don't have the revs to make my ball set up.

There are other ways to slow down ball speed rather than shelling out for a new ball.

Lowering the ball position in your stance prior to your approach should help shorten your backswing and lower ball speed. You may have to adjust your timing due to the shorter swing though.

You could adjust the ball surface, too.

"Ball set up"? What's that? If you want carry, that's a result of entry angle into the pocket. Going up 1 pound won't get you more carry per se,but it may help the ball find the pocket more. Only one way to find out, bite the bullet and buy the 16 pound ball of your choice.

With todays balls and coverstocks, a 15lb ball will carry just as well as a 16lb for most brands.
