Default Season is officially over now...

I didn't want to bowl this tournament, but did anyway b/c the team couldn't find a replacement.

Swiss format with a twist.
--a single point awarded for head to head matches
--a single bonus point awarded for beating your average
--3 points awarded to the team total pins winner
--1005 team average cap. Any man over 210 has a 210 avg and any woman over 195 has a 195 avg for this tournament....

Day 1:
209-194-256-242-195-22something
Team is doing okay and climbing up the standings. We finish the day in 4th place. I'm 4th in average for the tournament and another male member is 2nd in average for the tournament.

Day 2:
269-178-186-182-243-204
Kind of a feast or famine day for me today. Started out on lanes 3/4 and whacked em playing up 3 board. Moved to lanes 23/24 and they were night and day different. We bowled two games on that pair and I never could figure out the right lane. The 182 and 186 contained a combined 2 opens and no doubles...yes! Grabbed another ball and move much deeper on the next pair....35 with my feet and 20 with my eyes. I had alittle issue at the start of game 3. I threw my first shot and all of a sudden I had to crap....BAD. I ran to the bathroom and pinched a quick one. This repeated itself 2 more times between games 3/4.

The team is doing okay, we are bouncing between 4th and 6th. We are in 5th headed into the last game. If we win 6/7 points we cash. I start off hot....nobody else does. My beloved teammate that I can't stand says "Its over". This is in the 3rd frame... I said come on we can turn this around, lets go. By the 8th frame we are down 100 pins total and I'm the only one in command of my point which I win. That was the only point we took that game....

By the end of the game I was pretty furious about our two women bowlers giving up in the 3rd frame. I can't stand losing, but I can accept it. However, giving up with over half a game to go...it burns me up inside. When you say crap like that, it takes the pressure off the opposing team b/c you've already been beaten in their eyes. I looked at the team captain and said, "this is why I didn't want to bowl". He said, "I know, they don't deal with pressure well." ugh....

However, the one point I won allowed my wifes team to jump the team we bowled so they got into the cash. Go me!

On top of all that, somebody lied about our an average or two so we could make the cap. I had no knowledge of this....I just got told when we bowled. Luckily we weren't DQ, not that I would have mattered, but I certainly don't want to be labeled a cheater.

So that was my fun weekend.....

Understand, I hate to heat teammates start talking negatively. I've had some good come back in State Tournments several times. Some meant the difference between cashing and other where morals victories.

The one I share the most... started the first game of team out open, open, then started striking from 3 on towards the end of the game. One spare around 9th ended up with a 245. I could have written off that game.

I hate it when people give up so quick. That's why I like my team. Even when we are down by 100 pins or more going into the 10th we still try to come back.

Never underestimate the power of the 10th frame
